I changed my bars today (from the reduced reach to the tallboy) and everything still worked after I was done. Huzzah to the FSM. Unfortunately, I don't have good before and after photos but attached a couple that may help you see the difference

I'm still tweaking the bar rotation and control clocking but I'm fairly pleased with the outcome so far.
They're HD Tallboy for XL models (55800580). I didn't have to extend anything. The turnsignal and control pod wiring is close to being too short (I could not get the upper retainers that hold the harness to the handlebar in) but is fine. The throttle and clutch cables and brake line had been previously replaced with longer ones when I had the reduced reach bars installed a couple of years ago.
