Does anyone have the W0508 or W0518 Chubby bars for RK and did you have to rewire anything. According to the website, you do not need to. I just want to make sure you do not have to rewire.
I put some Wild One chubbys for my Road Glide, and although it said that the stock cables were fine, when my wrench got it apart, they were too short! We had to order new cables 2 inches longer. SO I went ahead and got braided cables. They look great, and the chubbys is super, but the cables cost! Yow. but still I am glad I did it. Anyway, better be ready to order longer ones. I did.
I understand you need to extend the wiring harness and the cables to do it right. There may still be a picture on the Wild1 website with the brake lines bent out, instead of extended, and it looks awful.
The cable and brake line replacement cost is the only thing keeping me from making the switch right now. I can't imagine how much it would cost to have a dealer install these bars!
I have the 518's. You have to lengten the throttle and brake lines 2". The stock length of the clutch cable works fine. As for the wiring, it will work, but its a tight fit. HD makes a plug in type extension harness. It costs about $30. I did the install myself about six months ago and couldn't be happier. Wild1's makes a great set of bars.
