Default Handlebars and cables????

I have searched through pages of posts on handlebars and I have not found my answer. I am going to order a 1 ¼ Buffalo Bars 6 in T bar for my Fatboy Lo. Do I need to order new cables or will the old ones work? I have been told I will need new ones and that I will only need a longer brake cable. Does anyone know what I really need? Thanks for the help!!

I could not find a web site for the Buffalo Bars so I can recommend you contact them.

So I'll suggest http://www.wild1inc.com/, and ask then about cable lengths.

I swapped out my apes for some Paul Yaffe Hi fly bars (9" curved rise) just today. I utilized my stock throttle cables, and stock clutch cable (it could be an inch longer) The brake line is a different story. I had to re route my brake line from my apes because the stock ones would not look very good, although they will work. I am not sure that I like what I did, but I will soon find out. What can I say, I am a little **** about it. I will definately be ordering a brake line that I dont have to to route like I did. So basically, if you are only going with a 6" rise, you can use all stock cables without modification.

Thanks for the help! I was hoping he stock cables would work. The bars are 6 in rise and 7.75 pullback. I just dont want to get everything apart and then have to order a cable.

Default My two cents...

Just because the cables CAN reach doesn't mean you shouldn't be ordering longer cables.

Not saying this is the case, but I have a Lo and the cables may have reached but the radius on a couple was really tight.

My 2 cents, YMMV, etc...
