Default What changed engine wise starting in 2014?

Was just looking at the Screaming Eagle catalog this morning and a lot of the parts listed are for 2008-2013. And then for 2014 and up. Just curious.

I believe 2014 was the first year of water/oil cooled motors?

Appreciate the response. But this is the Sportster forum.

For one thing the connecting pipe between the exhausts was moved to the headers from the mufflers.
The electrics / electronics went to CAN bus.

CANbus and ABS. Not really engine changes per se, but they moved a lot of stuff around because of it. Brake master cylinder was relocated, as well as the above mentioned exhaust changes.

On Sportsters the O2 sensors changed from 2007-2013 18mm unheated to 2014+ are 12mm heated sensors.
Many of the 2014+ stock mufflers have cats.

Nothing changed in the internal engine parts, pistons, heads, crankshaft and cylinders etc.

Not applicable to the Sportster, but it was also the beginning of the "Rushmore" series of touring bikes.
