I can see an ultra in you're future . bin there done that ! We leave for cali in may from jersey 30 days or so , plus i now tow a cargo trailer called " MY WIFES LUGGAGE" by the way we are in our mid to late 60' s
Tsukayu bags - Do not exceed maximum recommended load of 20 lbs.
It doesn't state if that is each or total.
My stock saddlebags have a recommended weight limit of 10lbs each and look about the same size as the Tsukayu. Possibly not as well made and not designed to keep the weather out so the Tsukayu could be better on those two counts.

One thing bad I have read of the Tsukayu is they have been known to charge your card as soon as the order is made, wait 6-8 weeks to ship, from Hong Kong. As one critic pointed out, that is well past the 45 day protection plan of Paypal whom they insist you pay with. Kinda scarry there. Plus the price. $579 for unpainted bags and an additional $75 for being in the USA.
Congrats on your first ride together! Sounds like some fun riding together in your future!!!
btw, my wife, Mary, has ridden two up with me for hundreds of thousands of miles. Sportsters, Dyna's, Softail's, Baggers, Trikes. Her favorite (most comfortable) is a Heritage Softail.
If you end up shopping, don't rule them out in favor of a Bagger, just because HD says that the Bagger is the "Touring" model. The Softail can take hard bags, tour-pak and a fairing, the same as a Bagger.
This is great to hear 44 years and she is getting back on the bike with you congratulations! Just my opinion but if you want to keep her ridding make sure she is warm and comfortable toes to nose. So boots ,gloves good fitting helmet, rain gear , jacket, chaps . 44 years you know the drill happy wife happy life.
I have some childhood friends that live 30 minutes east of Morro Bay , Have fun.
