Does anyone have any experience or reviews of any of the knock-off detachable sissy bars? I saw this seller that is listing them as new that seem to be identical to the OEM sissy bar. I sent the seller a question asking him if they were Harley OEM. This was his response: Hello , thanks for your question. OEM . We order the items through the same factory HD uses. Some of the items are oem in the sense HD ordered them but didn't want them anymore so the factory sold them to us. Other ones We ordered from the factory and they made them for us. Everything is the exact same.
Looks correct to me. Still need docking hardware and backrest pillow. Additional cost of approx $90.00 plus tax and shipping.
Not a bad deal but maybe not great. What is total cost of OEM from other supplier that might be guaranteed fit plus original HD logo on back? Higher quality in welds could be issue also?
If easy to return for full refund I might give it a try. Could also end up being a huge hassle and time waster?
You usually get what you pay for these days. Is the cost savings worth the hassle? Maybe.
Good luck,
Just my opinion of course.

The OEM sissy bar is around $175-200 depending on the internet site. Not too much more. The ebay docking hardware is considerably cheaper. I'll probably just go with the new or used OEM parts unless somebody gives the EBay sissy bar parts a thumb up ???

I noticed the Gunny in your avitar. I used to live in Palmdale and there was a friend I had that owned a gunshop he frequented. Was in there once finalizing a rifle purchase and there was the gunny. Picking up a pistol he had bought earlier. He wasn't much for words, and seemed just like he does on screen.
My friend says he never talked much, but was polite.
