Can anyone advise if a 2008 Rocker C front wheel will fit on my 2005 XL883 (narrowglide).
I know axle is 1” so have to use 3/4” bearings, but concerned RE hub width and rotor position.
Oops. Was a bit unclear.
The axle on a Rocker C is 1” as far as I know, but the axle on my Sporty is 3/4”, so I would have to change the bearing to the smaller size.
My concern is whether the hub width and rotor position would work.
I cannot get proper measurements from the seller.
Thanks.
Sorry I cannot help on the width of the wheel, only that if it came from a 2008 year bike and it was a Custom or Iron (or even maybe a Low checking Ronnies parts) then it should fit as they are all narrow glide front ends.
Can you ask the seller which bike it came off?
I would not want to part with any money if the seller is not prepared to help you.
Hey HOGman, dud you ever end up having a go at this? I'm in almost exactly the same boat thinking of buying a Rocker C wheel on my shuvvy. Except my front end is of a 90s 39mm sporty front end.
Just curious to see if you ended up trying it. I'm pretty convinced that the hub is not gonna work, when you cant re-lace it to centre it it has to be narrow enough to get the disc in the right spot and still be centred.... pretty risky!
My forks are a little different to yours and I can see this ending up in buying a new front bake, but maybe that's for the best haha.
I was hoping to retain my old one but I guess maybe I'll just have to suck it and see. As one guy on here says it's our duty as HD owners to mix and match parts and make it work.
See below old ugly front end and wheel, and below that the beginnings of the new one.
Following this thread HOG63 with great interest as I have a 2007 sportster custom and wanting to get rid of the 21 inch chrome spokes and put on the 19 inch front wheel. I believe the rocker C has the 19 inch 90 wheel and tire. Did the rotor and caliper fit bolt on with no mods and how about your stock wheel spacers. Looks like a great wheel. Any tips or info would be appreciated. Thanks
