I also have my bike in the garage....I went to Walmart and bought the elcheapo $20 silver and blue cover. Works great for garage duty :-) You will need a large if you decide on this cover.
If you just want it for a dust cover inside the garage, make sure you don't get something water proof. A waterproof cover that is left on for long periods of time might collect condensation inside the cover and leave you with some corroision. When I leave mine in the garage for any period of time I just throw an old sheet over it. Fitted sheets with the elastic in the hem work well.
I like your response. A person doesn't need to go out and buy something expensive when there is usually something around the house that will do the job. Works for me.
Just a warning and word of advice for anyone who has the same mouse problem I do. I don't have a garage, but I keep my bike locked in a 12'x22' locked shed in the backyard. It seems that field mice have taking to spending their winters inside the shed and the last bike I had (Honda CB750C) the mice found comfort by building a nest in the air filter. If any of you may have a mouse problem where you store your bike for the winter, I suggest you may want to stuff your AC's opening with tin foil to keep the little ba*t*rds out of there!
Oh! Good advise, I never thought of that. I have been covering the ends of the exhaust openings but not the air cleaner...btw is the air intake at the bottom of the a/c on the 883's?
I guess there's probably better ones but I got mine from Walmart a couple of years ago for the V-Star I had at the time, cost me around $50CDN and it is made for covering mcls during storage periods. It worked well for me and now I'm using it for the 883 I just recently acquired.
Congratulations on the 883!! You're going to love it! The cover you have sounds as though it breathes, which is just what you want for storage. BTW, how did you like that V-Star?

Thanks for the heads-up on this.
Tom
Tom,
Yes. I believe the intake for the Air Cleaner for the 883 is on the bottom front of the "ham can" cover. And THANK YOU for the "heads up" on the exhaust ends - I wouldn't have thought of them since mice did not invade them on my CB- doh!!!
