hey guys,
after finally getting my recent issues resolved, a few days after putting in a new fuel pump and engine temp senor my bike was running good for a couple days but now after start up it immediately idles around 1600-2000 rpm and stays there resulting in the code p0505 (loss of idle speed control) also rpms hang high through the gears, wondering where to start to look.

It is helpful to other to know what year, model and mileage bike you have.
I would first check the IAC Intake Air Control.
You should hear it reset when you turn the Stop/Run switch off.
Pull the air filter and make sure it is clean.
If that looks good.
Check for intake leaks.
Check for leaking injectors.
With the throttle wide open, turn IGN ON for 2
seconds and then OFF for 2 seconds 5 consecutive
times. Replace the fuel injector if there is any evidence of
raw fuel in the bores.
Make sure the throttle plate is at 0% (fully closed) Could be a throttle cable adjustment issue.
If the VSS shows a value greater than 0 mph , idle speed control is disabled.
