Default Oops!!

I have a 98 sporty..and I recently changed my front brake lines when I installed new bars. I accidentally grabbed the dot 4 fluid instead of 5 and filled it up and bled the system. It hasn’t been ridden and the lever has only been pumped a few times. Once I noticed I quickly drained the entire front system...should I be okay to just flush the system with some alcohol and then re flush w dot 5 as long as I am very thourough?

Two new calipers, a master cylinder and new braided lines are expensive!!

I used denatured alcohol rinses and bleeds to port over older dot 5 parts to my dot 4 system. No issues.

That is not gospel though. YMMV

It has happened to many. If it was mine, I would use a turkey baster or something and empty the master cylinder. Then refkll and use my hand vacuum pump for bleeding brakes and just keep bleeding and refilling a few times. You will be fine.

Ok..so I flushed the system with denatured alcohol a bunch of times through each caliper (I have two in the front). Then I ran through about half a quart of the dot 5 split between the calipers. The brake lever feels good...should I be good now?
