This might seem a stupid question if you live in USA because everybody knows the answer.
Regarding the Domestic combined amber front turn signal and running lights that we dont have in Europe. Lets say you put the blinkers on to the left. What happens to the running light in the same bulb, does it stay on, or does it switch off for as long as the turn signal is ON?
Specifically on a Sportster from 2017 in case there are any changes.
What I mean is, does the driving light (the filament itself) in the same bulb stay on while the turn signal filament is blinking??
Well on the GSX 1100 I bought as an import from the US the turn signals were on all the time as running lights and went off and on ( rather than on and off ) when they were required to function as turn signals . In other words they only had one filament . Bloody confusing and dangerous in my opinion so I sorted that out with a wire cutter on day one . Next job was the headlight that wouldn't turn off !
The front running light on my 18 Iron actually turns off while the turn signal is on. Not the opposite side, only the one with the signal blinking. My signals are LED, so ones that use a buld may be different.

Thank you for that reply whylee. I am having issues with the aftermarket LED signals on my 17 48. It seems they confuse the electronics on the bike.
It would be good to know what brand/model is on your bike, and if any mods of the wiring was needed to mount them.
