Do any of you guys have any interesting solutions to the mildly annoying issue of Sportster heat shields jingling , ringing , tinkling etc ? Mine has V&H Straightshots . I've tried to keep the muffler shields from touching the pipe shields but that irritating little noise just keeps coming back .
I am guessing you have had them off and can see the bracket welded on the inside of the heatshield where the clamp goes through is what is touching the muffler?
You might just need to do the jubilee clips up a little tighter.
The only thing I can think of is some kind of silicone rubber spacer that can handle the heat so you don't have metal on metal contact.

I'm going to order some of this stuff and stick strips if it behind all the jubilee clips . Got to be worth a shot . I'm still keen to hear of anyone's alternative solutions .
My guess is, some of the brackets might be broken, allowing the rattle. If possible, I would pull them back off and inspect. Are you sure the screw clamps are tight? They get real rusty and hard to tighten without breaking. I'd get new screw clamps to install with after the inspection.

It may be the baffles rattling. Mine rattle bad. My clips that you are discussing are tight on mine and I still hear that rattling. It tends to change as the bike gets hotter too. Less loud.
I gave the clips on mine a coat of anti seize before the rust set in. The screw slot is a bit meh so I use a small ring spanner to just get that little bit more snug.
They have been alright today since I put some very thick gasket paper under the rear heat shields . The trick is to stop them touching the front heat shields . It won't last because it will burn but if I replace it with something more durable ( see previous ) it should do the trick .
