100 Anniv. Dyna
Since I'm so darn short, I could only put the ***** of my feet on the floor, but it was comfortably so, and had no trouble taking itoff the kickstand.The shocks measured 12" center of top and bottombolts. 11"Progressives would lower it to about the right height for me. My brain said, "No, you have other plans and you haven't paid your debt off yet"....but I started slobbering like Pavlov's dogs!
So, should I relax and wait a couple of excrutiatingly slow months for the Sporty, or is this a deal too good to pass up, considering it is a Harley dealership?

The accessories you mentioned are worth $1,500 alone, as that is what the owner of my Softail paid for the detachable hard bags (with rear turn signal kit), detachable passenger rest/pad/luggage rack, and detachable windowshield. What I like is that you can go from '2-up touring mode' to mean looking cruiser almost instantly.
I checked the Kelly Blue Book suggested retail price for the various 2003 100th Anniversity Dyna models, and the price ranged from $10,000 on up, not including the accessories you would be getting. Here is a breakdown;
FXD - SuperGlide - $9,995
FXDX - SuperGlide Sport - $11,695
FXDL - Low Rider - $13,055
FXDWG - WideGlide - $13,270
I'm 6'2" so I can't give you much information about if you are too short for the bike, but you can lower them with shocks, seats, etc., and I know of many "shorter folks" that ride Dyna's and Softails.
((And everyone knows that a chrome and vivid black bike is the quickest and best looking))...

I can make it fit. Ipretty much have to factor putting in 11" Progressives regardless of the bike I get. That's not really a problem. The main problem is budget. I still owe severalthousand dollars on a personal loan that I've been paying down aggressively. The plan was/is? to get it low enough to run it up to the max again, so I can get a Harley for $10 thousandish. That way I can pay it off on probably better terms than the dealer would offer, at the same interest rate I'mgetting now, and I would be able to pick and choose my insurance coverages. I'm also factoring in a trip to the Pacific in September or October, and that's probably gonna run about $3K. Paying cash for the trip btw; not financing that. So that's why my brain says, "No!"
And yet...it's got all the crap I would put on it anyway. The hard bags flow with the fender and are roomy, the low, quick-detach sissy bar is just the right height for attachingan extra duffel to the back seat. I couldn't set the rear end up like that more perfectly! The front end? Yes, I want a windshield, but a low profile quick detachable one. Wider than what's on it now. But hey! At least it's a windshield. And it's detachable. Having it cut down would definitely be more cost-effective than starting from scratch. But...I think I'll hold off...till Monday anyway, if it's still there. This bike won't be on the floor long at all. Now, if it was a naked softail with floorboards (I can reach the controls with those), double the mileage, and only a couple of grand more? I'd be in an awful lot of debt today!
