I think he means the post was broke in the battery. Maybe that would show voltage but not enough of a connection to allow current to start.

What part of "the battery post broke" do you find confusing?

No I mean the battery post that sticks up broke off.

It was Yusa battery like Japanese bikes use, not the true HD battery, so the Previous Owner should have used some spacers and they didn't, they also didn't use the screws and nuts that came with the battery, they used the larger HD sized screw and and bolt so they drilled out the post. Between the lack of spacer which put extra strain on the connection and the drilled out, therefore weakened, post it broke off while I was riding it to the Harley Dealer to pick up a new set of keys. So I had to walk the last 3 blocks to the dealer, buy a battery, and have my other son drive over with some tools so I could replace the battery.

No but as the post broke, I'm pretty sure it was making occasional contact because the bike would run rough, die, start back up as I was rolling down the road before it died altogether.

And sorry I was editing my above response with a better explanation while you posted this.

Alright well I replaced the battery with the one from my Honda. All the lights came on which is great! Horn, day, lights, and turn signals all work! But she ain't turning over. It cranks but the lights dim when I got the start button. I checked the battery ground and wire brushed the connection point to be safe. The resistance was 250ish at first then quickly jumps down to 0.3. I bought a new one and it does the same thing for resistance. I'm thinking there's a bad ground or loose connection somewhere. Any ideas?

My bad. Bought a new grounding wire and checked the resistance, not hooked up. It had high initial resistance, 250ish, then went down to 0.3 or so
