just woundering if any of you have put on a front fork brace. I have a 2006 1200 custom and a friend has a newer gold wing and added one from superbrace and noticed it was even better. I was thinking about adding one and they even have one with flames on it. It looks better and made betterthan the one that harley makes from screamingeagle. any thoughts would be nice. i haven seen any post on this subject yet. web site is www.superbrace.com
I have a forkbrace on my '04 and yes, it does make some difference. However, I don't think it offers nearly as much 'bang for the buck' as a set of progressive-style fork springs. But if you like the look, I say go for it!
Do it. Really helps in the twisty stuff. A better ste of front springs and different oil would be even better but $$$$. the HD piece is ok but I'd get the superbrace. Wish i had gotten that one instead of the HD one. Mine started pitting at about 2000 miles.
Super Brace on my '05 1200 Roadster was the first mod that I performed. Helped the 'road feel' considerable while cornering. I did change to Progressive springs and H-D 'performance fork oil' which made a huge difference too. ................ BC
If you have ever been over 100 mph on your Sporty you know how squirrelly it gets at those speeds. I ran into a guy once that had a fork brace and he told me that it adds a lot of stability in the 100+ mph range. Personally I rarely see those speeds so i don't really see a need for one.

I've been over 130 MPH on a Sportster more times than you can count on both hands. Yes, it was on a closed course in organized competition (ECTA speed trials.) I never once used a fork brace and I never once felt the need for one. I can point you toward others with the same impression. Sportsters are incredibly stable platforms.
Fork braces are nothing but expensive pieces of BLING.
