Really the soldering is the only hard part that requires a built skill.

But I read about bleeding the brake lines and getting air out. Not sure how difficult that is.

2 person job, really easy the traditional way. pump 3-5 times, hold the lever and don't let go on the 3rd-5th pump, crack the bleeder valve, close the valve, THEN release the lever and repeat until no air comes through that valve.

There are lots of fancy ways to do it too, and the above comments are just a really good easy way to SEE the bubbles, not make a mess and save fluid. The clear tube method above is just an additional trick, not necessary.

Got my brake lines in, my plan to make it all easier? Do the brake line first in one day after work. Then do the bars another day. If you want it to be a several day thing, then yeah get the wiring done and all that over a few days. But you'll want to do the brake bleeding while either set of bars is installed.
this is exactly it, and very helpful. You can totally do your own brakes.

Thing to watch with a fresh and empty line: make sure to check your fluid level every cycle to make sure you don't let it get low. if the fluid gets low in the reservoir, it will suck air into the system.

Wait,..what?? Solder? You should not have to solder anything. The extensions should link up to the factory wires once you pull the connectors off. Each wire will have a male and female end and you just have to join them then use the provided shrink tubing to cover the connections. At least this is how the NAMZ extensions work.

DON'T LET ANYONE START HACKING UP YOUR WIRES until someone else chimes in here to back me up or correct me.

basically you have two options with how the kit works.
1. Wires have some kind of connector already attached on both ends -- no solder required.
2. Wires have a connector on one end, and the other end is just plain wire -- requires soldering.

I've seen more of option 2 when shopping, personally. But he's right that if they have connectors on both ends, boom you got the easy kit.

Most LA chopper wiring kits are similar to this -- requires soldering.

If anyone has link to video for installing apes on sportster(I have 17') that would be great. Would like to start this project tomorrow.

What special tools do I need for this project?
