Default tank swap

good morning, I have a 2009 sportster with the 3.3 peanut tank and would like to swap to a 1200 4.5 custom tank. but the fuel pump dosn't seem to fit

I did that swap, its a direct swap. The fuel pump will fit, I noticed I just needed to go slow and finangle it in, but it all fit.

I've done the same swap with my 2007 Sporty. The pump has to be at the correct angle and in the correct position to come out or go it

Dont know why, but I used the same pump out of my oem 3.3 tank in a 2.1 and 4.5 gallon tank. The pjmp would slide right into the 3.3 and 2.1, but I had to really get the angle perfect to fit the 4.5, but it does fit.

Hey there, slightly off the original topic, but I was wondering if you (anyone) still had the 3.3gal tank that they'd be willing to sell? I have a 2018 48 that I'd love to upgrade the tank on. Thanks and seeing pics of yalls sportsters with the tank upgrades would be sweet!

Here is my 2007 Sporty. No photos with the HD badges because they were just put on by my Indy and I have not picked the bike up yet
