2002 883 carb leaks weird

2002 883 carb leaks weird
Aloha from Maui I have a 2002 883 the carb only leaks out the bottom overflow at idle once I hit the gas it stops leaking. Do you think i need to replace the floats and needle?

Sounds like they need an inspection- easy enough to pull float bowl off (btw- dont use an f'd up screwdriver- get the best one you got- because those float bowl screws are pretty soft)
Look for debris on the needle valve -replace as necessary- floats are probably ok. Also check float bowl gasket. Good luck! Aloha!

When you take the bowl off drop the float and replace the needle valve. Don't just clean the bowl. With the float and valve out, put a catch under the carb and open the petcock for a second to flush any crap out of the carb. Float might need a little adjustment as well.
