Default Front turn signal relocation

Hey all, was wondering if anyone has relocated their front turn signals from the handlebars to the forks with the kit HD has. I have an 07 1200CXL and have been thinking of doing this but.. 1. are they as visible for oncoming trafficas on the handlebars and 2. is it a complicated job for someone (me) that has not a lot of experience at doing something like this? Thanks.

The visibility is good IMO. I had mine relocated on my first bike. A friend and I were going to relocate them on my new bike, but I did not have all necessary bolts. You will need to shorten the wiring, and do some sodering.

i wouldnt buy the HD kit if i were you, i did that then returned it and bought some clamps off ebay. Something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/41mm-...spagenameZWDVW

The HD kit sucks, and makes the signals stick out too far. I didnt have a soldering gun either, put my wires back together with but connectors, works just fine. Heres a good pointer though, you can do this mod without having to cut the wires, it sure beats soldering them or having to connect them again. I dont remember how i think you have to remove the tank, do a search or maybe someone else can offer some help on how to do that. I wish i had known.

I used the HD kit http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US.

I like the look, I don't think they stick out too far.

I did not have to cut wires or remove the tank. I removed the riser and just re-routed the wires as needed, it was very easy.

I guess it's personal preference, but why is everyone so keen on relocating them?

I like that they are mounted to the handlebars. Gives the bike a more vintage feel for me...

To each his own I guess...

I bought the clamps for $20.00 plus shipping of e-bay. I have an 04 custom and did not solder the wires to make them shorter, I just kind of stuffed the excess under the riser backplate.

There are about 18,324 different kits out there for relocating the front turn signals.

I just went with the Kuryakyn clamp setup that allows the signals to remain pretty close to the tubes. I was running 41mm tubes on my 1200C, but you can also get them in the standard 39mm diameter for the stock frontends.

They were only about $22, and are easy to install.
