Back Ordered!
Last Wed. the starter on my 06XL1200 died on me.It was going to be 2-4 weeks for a dealer,4 in my area, to get to my bike.I decided to fix it myself and ordered the parts.The dealer sayed they would cover the parts under warranty ($600.Can) and ordered the parts.Monday everything arived,exept the starter.BACK ORDERED.I've had to borrow a vehicle from a friend,so I can get to work.You would think that currant model parts,would be easy to get.[:@]

It is the busy season for HD but you would think a starter would be available. See if the dealer (hopefully it is your selling dealer)would be willing to check other dealer inventory and have it shipped in for them.

Re-build your old one. Since it's trashed, it won't hurt to give it a try, take it apart and rebuild it. I've fixed a number a harley starters for buddies of mine, and 90% of the time it's just contacts inside that get dirty.

Today my dealer informed me that its going to take 4-6 weeks to get a starter for my Sporty.Its the starter drive that failed,and the parts are back orderd too.Deeley is the distributer for Harley in Canada,they don't have an e-mail address.Harley-Davidson does'nt have an e-mail address either.I am stuck with a bike that won't run and it's costing me about $500 a month(loan payment & insurance).[:@][:@][:@][:@]
