Is there any relevance what others get? Different ambient temperature, different altitude, air density, driving style, etc all have a bearing. Just interesting anecdotal stories at the bar.

The FP3 also has the ability to show engine temperature. It will be no different and just depends on if you selected a tune that will be richer than required.

Same can be said for an actual dyno tune. It's always just a snapshot of any given moment.

Soooooo. Speaking of engine temps, at what point do you turn the engine off if you happen to be sitting in traffic on a hot summer day?

That oil temp is a tad on the high side...remember, if it is reading 250 in the tank it is Much hotter in the engine...additive packages, like viscosity modifiers, start breaking down around 275...so 250 in the tank is taking it's wear on the oil. An oil cooler and/or a filter relocation would benefit you.

The ET you were seeing on the PV is normal.

Here's a LINK to some interesting info on temps and how they affect power and longevity.

Do you think you have a problem?

I was out the other day and the oil temperature in the tank was 194°F. How does that help you?

I wouldn't give oil temps below 250/260°F a thought. Same with head temps of 400° or less. With fairly spirited riding on an average 80° day. But that's just me.
Just to show how afr can affect it, I rode Xmas day in 50° weather. I'm jetted for more like 80° weather. Bike ran great but was obviously running leaner than usual. I didn't take any temp readings but I could tell it was running hotter than it usually does when it's running richer even tho ambient temps were lower. But I was also just running around town and not getting the air flow I would at higher speeds.
So like everyone is saying, average is a relative term and too many variables.
