Hello, new to the forum. I'm looking to get a tachometer for my 2003 sportster 883. Anyone know how to do it and where I could find a tach that would fit my bike?
Yeah, found several. Thing is, how to i connect it to the bike and make it work?
It is as simple as attaching trigger input to tach to the Trigger side of the coil...
Then generally the white wire is the 12v side of the coil [ignition on] and can be used to power the 12v to tach as well
So it all revolves around the coil!!!
Check your Wiring Diagram to ensure you are attaching the triggers to Trigger side of Coil...all set!!!
Note; I believe that Fuel Injected Models are Single Fire, and therefor require a different Tach... Ensure you get the Correct Tach for your Model... which I believe is Dual Fire... But I am Not familiar with anything very new!!!!
Darn... I think I found a Wiring diagram for your 2003... shows dual Plugs...and seems to be Single fire.. Shop accordingly if this is yours!!!!
