I am considering buying parts from a 82 1000 sportster, will anything from that bike fit my 90 883?
It would help if you told us the parts you're interested in. Not every part on the older bike will fit the newer one! You can also consult the Ronnies H-D parts website, to compare parts numbers for those two years....

Oh... I dunno... What parts , Minus the Engine and directly related to Engine, do you believe won't Fit??
Maybe Swing arm???
Different Part numbers...especially "Dash" Numbers, don't necessarily mean "Don't Fit"
Front end??... yup interchange..In fact first year for 1" stem!!. Wheels?? yup BTDT... Oil tank/battery tray... Did that one also..Sheet metal?? not identical and the Rear requires the correct struts... but...still interchangeable..Seat???? c'mon ....Anything else??
Edit; Just noticed... 1990 not even a 5 speed... Fear Not... Amazing how many parts interchange all the way to the mid '90's!!!
