Looking at putting 12 inch bars on my 2015 xl883n. Will I need to replace the cables and electrical wires or are they long enough to accommodate 12 inch bars? Thanks for the help.
Hold the new bars against the old. If the height or reach difference is 4 or more inches then almost certainly you are going to need longer cables, brake line and wiring harness to hand controls.
For the HD Mini Ape part number 55801003, which are only a 8.75" rise, installed on a 2015 XL883N it shows 10" switch extensions and 6 inch turn signal extensions as needed.
You would likely need even longer extensions.
They show as long as 18" extensions for 2014+ Sportsters on page 200 of the guide.
There are also part number listings for throttle and clutch cables and brake lines.

Ah dont go by whatever you've find outlined by someone else. If your adding a 12" ape, add 12" to the existing cable. If its 10" ....well you get the idea. You can go maybe 3" from the originals but that's it.
