Default Evap emissions component 2016 48

I have a question concerning my “California model” 2016 48. Is the “Evap Emissions Component” a part that needs to remain on the bike for it to run properly ? I mean hell I’ve all ready installed a “Stage 1” kit already, high flow DK Custom AC, Freedom slip ones and a Dyna Jet Tuner. So is this thing just dead weight ? What’s the pro’s and cons of **** canning this part ? And how do I go about ridding myself of this part ?
Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions.

The easy part is the fuel tank vents into the EVAP cannister and you could probably pull that hose and let it vent to atmosphere.

The not so easy is there is a purge solenoid that allows for the vapour to be sucked back into the induction module to be burnt. You could possibly just pull the hoses from it and plug the hole at the induction module.

Do you have catalytic converters in your mufflers as well?

It's fairly pointless to eliminate the carbon canister, all it does is hold gas tank vapors. Absolutely no impact on performance. As googawed up as the new Sportsters are with all the electronic foofoo, might a well just leave it be.
