I bought one of those cheap low profile turn signal integrated led taillights from ebay but im unsure on how to wire it. Was curious if anyone on here has already done it? They didnt give me a plug of any kind its just bare wires. I dont even care about using the turn signals just wanna wire it so it works as a brake light and thats it
My buddy bought several LED signals off Ebay, as he breaks them frequently off road riding. In fact, he's got two bikes in my garage right now with three broken off turn signals!
I at first just used some butt splices with integrated solder and a heat gun. Lately, I think my next repair will be with bullet or spade connectors, so if he breaks one again, I can easily just put one connector back on. However, those solder-butt splices work very nice. I got a cheap heat gun and you want to hold it about a half inch or so away. I made a small foil "kiln" to surround it when I used the heat gun. It only took about 30 seconds once I figured out the technique.
Also, don't be surprised if you get a bad light. We got one and realized it was defective only after I had it all nicely soldered and installed. Ugh.
One wire you can send power, the other is a ground. I don't think it matters unless they are colored red and black, then red is positive. I just wired them into the two existing wires.
