Hey guys, I have some questions about the brake caliper of my roadster.
I have a bad crash with my bike in Sep, took to the local dealer and had to replace a bunch of stuff. They had me replaced the left front fork, left rotor and caliper (caused they had bent).
After its done I keep hearing some scratching noise when riding. I take a look and find the right caliper now doesnt look too normal (attached).
So is this the right caliper grinding the rotor? Can this be fixed or had to replace with new kit?
It seems my dealer is not doing a good service....
I had new bearings put in my front wheel recently , the tech didn't " set " the bearings in far enough , so when I installed my wheel , the left rotor was centered perfectly in the brake caliper , but the right side rotor was scraping the inside edge of the caliper , near the outer brake pad . Get the front end off the ground and spin the wheel , see if you can pin point where the scraping is coming from . I took the wheel back and they tapped the right side bearing in further , problem solved .
You should also check the right sight side rotor far a warp , could be just rubbing on the break pad . If the rotor is not warped , then check and make sure the front forks are pulled in together against the wheel spacers , there should not be a gap between the spacers and wheel bearings .
