Brake Help!!!
I've noticed a knocking sound coming from the front end. Thought it was coming from the engine, then I thought it was a loose horn bracket...but now I'm convinced it's the front caliper.
The noise stops when I apply the front brake (while in motion). So I figured the caliper must be loose. Went to tighten it down today and the bolts holding it to the left fork are as tight as they can be...but I can physically move the caliper back and forth with my hand - not much, probably a half a millimeter at most, but enough to say the caliper seems wobbly?
It's the older style caliper so maybe it's supposed to have a slight movement to it? I wouldn't be concerned if it wasn't for the constant audible knocking sound while riding. Also, the noise intensifies when I go to make a left-hand turn, weird I know but definitely noticeable!
Any help appreciated.
If it knocks when your moving the caliper you could try bleeding the brakes again. Might still be a little air in the system causing them to move a little more then they should.
