Hi anyone have the same "rattle sound" coming from the front break/caliper? I have a 99 Sportster Custom in real good shape and loving the bike, but this annouing sound that comes from the front caliper/breakes just need to be fixed :P Will a change of this caliper help, or is there maybe a dual pump caliper available for this model? Please help if you can
Never heard a caliper 'rattle' personally, but I suppose there is a first time for everything.
I'll assume the caliper hasn't come loose on the fork slider?
Does this noise happen all the time?
Or does it only happen when you brake?
Have you checked to make sure there is nothing else contacting the wheel/hub?
Can you raise the front end off the floor and rotate the wheel by hand?
It is a rattle noise that appers all the time, espacially hitting bumps, and like old brickstone roads and such. But yes also during the ride, at acceleration and downgearshift and so on. The brakes/caliper is as tight as it can be. Its a "floating" device, and from what I have googled Harley says its like this, and cant be fixed.. I found this video at youtube and it may bee the same and I am going to try the solve to check it out
