Rear brake problem I think . . . . . .
I have a 2002 FLSTCI bought in December. Been riding it daily except for the snow and ice.
The rear brake makes a vibration noise when I brake gently to a stop. Only makes the noise when just before stopping at like 5 mph or so. If I brake hard it makes almost no noise.
I've done the basics. I replaced the pads, checked the brake fluid, made sure all the bolts are tight, and that the rotor feels smooth. Heck, I even hit the brakes while sitting and watched all the brake lines incase there was movement. Nothing.
Braking works great. Stops predictably and nicely. Just rather loud sometimes. The bike has about 14K miles on her now. Hmm, now I have to go lokk at the miles . . .
I'm now at a loss. Only thing left is to completely bleed the system and replace the fluid. Well, that I can think of.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Can I assume you mean the two pins that hold the brake pads in place?
Then could I assume that the brake pads are sliding across the pins unevenly thus the need for lube and reduction in noise?
Maybe I should soak them in carb cleaner so they are clean and then lube them?
Makes a lot of sense to me and they WERE NOT lubed up when I pulled them out!
Again, thanks!

Something worth trying, remove the caliper and, with a relatively fine file, put a slight chamfer on the leading and trailing edges of the pads. Since this stops drum brakes from doing pretty much the same thing, it will probably work on disks too.
It's a long shot, but, if you bought the bike used, take a close look at both sides of the rotor. If the previous owner had the rotor turned, it is possible they left a spiral "thread" on the surface. this will tend to pull the pad up or down until the pad snaps back with a very noticable thump.
