I'm not exactly scared of working on my bike and doing some simpler stuff, but when it comes to brakes I take no chances, so here's my question.
When cruising along I can hear a slight whine coming from my front brake, but if I even slightly depress the brake the whine goes away completely. Of course I can only hear it when I'm going very slow, considering at faster speeds all quiet sounds are drowned out. The brakes don't feel at all different (the front's a little soft, but nothing uncommon).
I noticed when adjusting my handlebars that the brake line is a little tight. Could this be the issue?
I'll also add that after examining the pads, there doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary.
Thanks in advance for any assistance/advice.

I know, brakes aren't exactly complicated, but ever since I worked on my Mustang as a teenager I've been overly cautious. Thanks for alleviating my worries.
