I live in Wisconsin, and I see women on bikes frequently (mostly on Harleys ). In fact, the other day I saw a guy riding bitch behind a woman! Nothing surprises me anymore! LOL
I saw the best thing ever the other day. Two really hot girls about 19 or 20 riding a crotch rocket together. Holy crap was that hot. I say the more the merrier.
Now that I have started riding I seem to notice a lot more ladies riding. I probably just wasn't as observent before. The first time my hubby took me out for a quick lesson, we rode back to town with him riding bitch! I weigh 100lbs soaking wet and he is around 200lbs. I bet that was a funny site on my little sporty!
There are plenty of lady riders in my area. Three that I ride with fairly often. One of them rides a Dyna, the other 2 Hondas. Another couple of female riders Iknow ride crotch rockets.
I find it really kind of amusing (and flattering) that people seem to make such a fuss in this area. Its like "WOW, look at that, a woman on a bike, and a Harley No less!" I just smile and do my thing.
I get all kinds of funny looks, remarks, you name it. Personally I didn't think it was much of a novelity, and I would have thought there were more women riding in this area. Even I don't see that many, and I'm looking. Must have something to do with Washington Weather... hehehe.
i'd say at least 30 percent of the bikes i see around here are women riders.but on that note i haven't seen a woman riding a crotch rocket by her self yet. usually guys between 16-35ish looks like. Guess the women are smarter than to ride one of those things. looks uncomfortable as all get out to me.
This all reminded me of the following story from '71: Half a dozen of us were hanging out at the Dairy Queen when Ava pulled up on her Honda 350. It was her only trans and she rode daily. Vic was there with his rat 48 pan w/12 over springer. He had relocated his hand shift lever to the clutch mount so you had to reach way down front to shift. Ava, all 95 lbs of her, walked over to Vic and asked if she could ride his chopper. With a smirk on hisface, Vic said "sure" if you can start it. Smiling, she goes over, finds neutral, flicks the toggle switch, pumps the kicker to TDC, jumps in the air and comes down, no start, grins from the crowd. Second kick fires it up, reaches down for 1st, toggles the clutch and takes off to cheers from the crowd. The look on Vic's face was totally indescribable. She came back a 1/2 hr later with this big sh#t eating grin, on reserve. She was an overnight Legend.

I hear ya, just looking at the positions you have to be in to ride a crotch rocket makes my poor back hurt. LOL I have respect for people who can do it.
I did see a group a couple of months ago, one of my first longer rides, and there were 2 women and a man on their crotch rockets. One of the women was on her first bike and her first long ride. So, I guess they are out there. I just don't see many of them on the roads.
