Default 08 bars/riser swap

hello all, new to the forums. Just picked up an 08 1200 anniversary model. haven't been on two wheels for quite a few years, and couldn't take it any longer. plan on making just a few changes to the bike, one being to swap out the stock pullback riser setup. I am looking to go with a straight riser and drag bar setup. I know I will need to relocate the spedo and warning lights, any suggestions as to what parts would be the best for the relocation? I was hoping to just use stock sportster parts, but unsure of all the year and models that would work for the swap. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm interested in this too as I want to mount the speedo above the bars, not below like Harley has it. I have looked around and have not found a chrome housing to move it yet.

Using HD parts you have the one used on the Low or SuperLow as an example.

I found this post that I think helps us both out.

I just need to figure out how long of a riser I can use with the factory wiring length.

I'm thinking with drag bars I should be able to use up to 8" risers without running into trouble with the length of the factory wiring and cables. Hopefully someone will have done this swap and chime in.

Just did this on my bike when I added tbars. Given your risers are 1". I did have to extend the wiring controls except for the gauge wiring as it was already long enough for the position I wanted it in. Extended the clutch cable and brake lines as well. I purchased the 14" burly brand cable extensions.
