Default Hard brake lines vs braided?

Rebuilding my 1988 Sporty 883. Not sure if the guy I bought this from did this setup or if it was factory, but 90% or the brake lines on the bike (front/rear) are solid line like you would find on a car. I know solid lines will give the best pressure, and braided better than rubber. Is it better to keep these or replace? I can't decide if I like the looks vs going with some black braided lines. The solid lines do tuck away better as you can bend them to any shape you can a hanger wire, shy of a hard 90 degree. Thanks for the input.

The bikes have hard lines but use rubber to go to the caliburs steelbraided is an upgrade over the rubber

Roger that. So keep the hard lines is recommended or is it preference?
I ask b/c I'm going to lower bars (from apes to drags) and need to replace part of the line to the handle bars.

Hard line as much as possible, rubber/braided at vibration and flex points.

What you do is find a hydrlick repair shop and let them see what you have and what you want to do and when you get the bars let them make custome steelbraided lines
