Default Change umbrella valves

Hello my friends bikers

I have a problem in my sportsty
I went for a walk with my sportster afterwards when I was home I noticed that some oil was dripping, I open the filter and I noticed that the breather bolts dripped oil and I deduce that the problem is the umbrellas valves ...What do you think friends

Thanks for the help

What year is your bike ? I'm curious because I've been meaning to address this issue myself for a while now .

Ah , one year before mine and one year before a major redesign . I'm not sure about your bike but mine has the Umbrella Valves in plug in plastic modules . I'm building an external breather system to see just how much oil I catch before jumping to any conclusions .

The problem is that here in Switzerland it is forbidden to change or add an external deposit as you want to do ... I know that when I go out with the bike and it gets a little hot and the bike gets hot I will always see the oil coming out of the filter

My 2008 1200, at 26,500 miles, does sweat some oil out of the filter. After the last oil change I did it looks like there is oil collecting on the pipe, however I have a feeling that's just excess K&N air filter oil. Keeping an eye on it for now...

There are many threads on oil entering the airbox.
But, before the umbrella valve is replaced.....

Check your engine oil level.
Many recommend to keep the oil level half way between the upper and lower dipstick marks.
(Over this 1/2 level, many get the oil leak you mention0

Good luck.

Thanks for the info, but the oil level already checked and it's in the middle of the dipstick

don't fill the oil to the fuel mark ... leave it a little below and most of your problem should go away

Which mark the minimum or the maximum.!
