6’ 220-240 pounds. Looking for recommendations on a solo seat for an 08 xl1200. I’d like to go back as far as possible while being comfortable. I think a motorcycle seat is the hardest decision since you can’t try them out for a month before spending the money. I read tons of threads on here but not many of them stated their height/ weight. I’m gonna do suspension, most likely Progressive 13” 412’s. This damn seat though..... this bike has 11k miles and rides like Fred and wilmas rock ride. 30 miles back is screaming
Mid pegs, it’s currently set up with forwards and I dig em pretty good.
John Ha, appreciate the response. Been reading a lot about that seat. Many more positives than negatives. Did the 13.5’s need a jiffy Ext?
Appreciate the reply. It has forward controls. The seat cover is shot anyway, but it’s the factory 2 up seat with 11400 miles. It’s gotta go either way, not even worth a recover imo.
Decent (not great but decent) deal on a mustang vintage solo saddle on eBay but fine print says 3.3 gallon tank. I have the 4.5. Is it possible? I’m a pretty handy fabricator. Or too much trouble?
My daughter has a HD solo seat for a 2006 1200 XL custom which had a 4.5 gal tank. It wasn't used but 2 month before she bought a 2008 Nightster. If you are interested. $100 including shipping
I have a DS Predator extended reach seat on my own 08 and like it a lot, moves the rider up about 2" and also back about 2"...plus it has a recess to accommodate the fender mounted ECU on 07-09 Sportsters.
