I have been slowly working on my '99 that I bought over the summer. I wanted to get a slightly more aggressive riding position and clean up the look on the cheap.
This is not a good picture but it shows some of the mods to date. I love the way the '48 speedo mount looks and the clean look of hiding the wiring.
The turn signals were advertised as plug and play but that proved not to be the case. In my case the lights would not flash, only stay on bright. Fortunately there are tons of videos out there explaining how to add flashers to correct it. But not wanting to hack into my harness just in case I added a Deutsch connector so the mod can be reversed. (Except for the disco ball turn signals of course...) You can see in the second photo the purple and brown wires going into the new connector and the white / blue wires going into the turn signal box that is attached to the fender
I have to figure out how to hide all the wire and connectors that came out of the stock headlight. I might end up putting in a bottom mount bracket and putting the original back on.
This winter I hope to tackle the rear fender, rear turn signals and fix some of the paint scratches.
