As stated, the keihin harley carb is a damn good carb, I'd stick with it. The only other good option would be a mikuni HSR 42, but i've never seen anyone use them on a 883, only 1200 and converted 1200's. The only real benefit to the mikuni, is quicker throttle response, but other than that, both keihin and mikuni have the same overall performance.......You definately won't gain hp from a new carb, compared to a properly tuned keihin. Not to mention the keihin carb is the easiest carb to get parts for at the local bike shops.

IMNSHO, the only reasons to change away from the stock carb are if you have a brand loyalty (you don't, or else you wouldn't be asking) or if you have an engine that needs or can take advantage of a higher potential flow (you do not).
The biggest bang for the buck performance wise on an 883 is an upgrade to 1200. Even at 1200 you can skip a new ignition, new carb, etc. Jet it and forget it.
