Default Stator replacement

I have a question cause sadly it came to me first time but I had to replace the voltage regulator and stator on my 1988 Sporty XLH 883 lucky all is replaced but not finished. My service manual is telling me to put threadlock on the engine sprocket nut threads and is its saying loctite 242 or equivalent, should I go with the loctite threadlock blue 242 or play it safe and go with red 271?

Red on the engine sprocket bolt. Then follow the HD manual when torquring to spec.

Thanks Paul I know the engine sprocket nut is 150 to 165 ft lbs but I'll go with red don't know why the manual says 242 which is blue again thanks for the feedback.

If damage or injury can result if the bolt or screw falls out use RED. Anything else gets BLUE.

And with the blue I recommend you use 243 in place of 242 as it has a certain tolerance to contamination if you don't get the threads squeaky clean.
