Default Help pls.

I’m new here there for apologize if not posting to the right place but I just bought a used iron 883 2019. I just changed all the clutch plates but my bike still won’t move forward when I let the clutch out. I have only made 3 payments on it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

First thing that comes to mind is clutch adjustment. I suggest you find a service manual for instructions, or there's always youtube.

Did you diagnose the problem correctly or just assume the clutch plates were bad and replace them ?

Could be the cable or adjustment as previously mentioned.

2019 shouldn't need clutch plates already. Gotta wonder what else that bike's been through.
If the lever isn't floppy, you are WAY off in the adjustment at the clutch basket.

Welcome from Spartan Country, Michigan!
I tell a lot of new comers to the forum to get: Factory Service manual and the Parts manual. Get a three ring binder and record all your maintenance, repairs, accessories, etc. This will be a great reminder of what was done when. And great material to pass along to the new owner should you sell and upgrade. Also know how large your fuel tank is, a rough idea of your range per tank, and record your fuel usage. I have an app called Simply Auto that I record all my fuel used. I use the odometer and use the fuel gage as reference only. I reset the odometer to zero on fill ups, and I know I can safely get 200 miles on a tank on around town riding, and upwards of 230+ on trips.
Good Luck!!

How did you determine that the clutch plates were the problem originally?

You have to put it in gear first.

all kidding aside I think you’ve got a different issue, no way a 2019 bike should need clutch replacement

Have you tried moving the shifter up or down? (Stipped or loose lever) Is there a green N light up? (short a few bricks)

Is it in gear?

How did you decide it needed clutch plates?

You're screwed. I'll give you $500 cash for the bike.
