While checking tension on the primary chain of my 2016 883L, I noticed that there is a fair amount of play in the transmission output.
I am curious as to how much slop is too much and I cannot seem to find a spec in the shop manual.
With the inspection port open I could clearly see whether the primary was rotating. I observed that if I chose a given tooth on the belt
I could rotate the tire so that 1-1/2 belt teeth move past a given spot as I rotate the wheel from one direction to the other with no movement
in the primary. Is this normal? Bike has a mere 6600 miles on it. There are times when letting out the clutch I hear a clunk prior to it
beginning to move. Again, is this normal? If these are not normal occurrances, where is the slop likely to be? I can say it is not in the wheel/
sprocket.
