Default Possible clutch/transmission issue, or just me?

Lately it seems when I shift up from one gear to another I seem to be catching what feels like gear teeth, it just doesn't click into one gear from the other. It is most noticeable from 1st to 2nd. Doesn't happen all the time, maybe 75% of the time. Downshifting is completely normal.

I've adjusted the clutch, adjusted the slack in the primary chain to specs, and even switched from the heavy HD gear oil to Schaeffers V-twin chaincase lube thinking maybe the heavier gear oil was causing the clutch plates to stick together and not fully release.

Around 18,000 miles I swapped in an Alto HD spring plate, and changed over to an NSK 7200BWG thrust bearing for the standard ball bearing HD uses for the thrust bearing. Bike now has 31,600 miles on it. There is no strange noises, bike shifts fine other than the feeling I'm catching gear teeth at times.

Any ideas what could be causing this, or is it just me since it doesn't do it 100% of the time?

Well my bike I suppose has a similar problem going into 3rd on the way up and on the way down unless the engine and road speed somehow match. Maybe there is a fault somewhere with the meshing mechanisms in there but I don't see lumps of metal during an oil change.

It has done it with and without the spring plate and with Formula+ and the HD synthetic gear oil.

I'd take a look at the clutch...the Alto spring plate is relatively new and hopefully far more durable than the POS stock HD "grenade plate" but who knows yet.

I have such hard switching with kickback when going up from 2nd to 3rd in approximately 25% switchings. Since new and till now (34 000 km).
