lol, I've never thought about it like that, the "Dealer". That's a good one. I was just looking through a JCWhitney magazine that I got, and I've got about 4 things flagged. Anyone had any experience with them? My dad bought a windshield from them for his bike and ended up sending it back because it attached to the bike with HOSE CLAMPS!?!?! lol. So right now, I'm kinda leary about them, but I did find some saddlebags that I really like and they are only about $150.00.
J.C. Whitney sells pretty low-class stuff - take it from one who learned.[:'(] My advice is to stay away from them. Try eBay for some bags - there are some great bargains there on brand new ones. Also many other things for your bike can be found there. Quality stuff at fair, and sometimes great prices.
Thanks Thumper. That's kinda the same idea I got about JCWhitney, I just wanted to get other opinions. So I'll stay away. Yeah, my dad and I were searching ebay the other night and found a right saddle bag for the Sportster, that had both mounting brackets for only about $25 and we kept searching and then found the matching left one (being sold by a different person) who didn't have the brackets, for only $1.00. So we watched both, but dad ended up bidding too soon to the end, and someone out bid him on the right one, so we didn't bother with the left. But that would have been a good buy, lol.
Howdy welcome to the world of Harley. You asked if there was anything that you need to look out for. Yes there is, riding a Harley can be addictive and you will spend more time at the pumps than you would with your other ride. Trust me, that's the way that it was last summer with me. Enjoy the ride
They say misery loves company. well so do flat broke harley riders!!! With gas prices finally returning to a more acceptable level, I may actually save some money. So far the money I saved by riding the Sporty instead of driving my treuck has went to chrome, a seat and handle bars!! Haven't saved a dime getting 4 times the gas mileage!
Springer, I doubt that, lol. I also drive a Dodge Ram that gets 14 mpg. But it's definetely addictive. I was gonna drive it today, but it was so freakin' cold......I know I know,[sm=chairshot.gif] but I haven't got my leather jacket yet, or some long johns, which would definetely come in handy. ******, on the weeks where I even drive the Sporty 2 or 3 times instead of the Ram, then I actually do save money. But I see what you mean about spending it on mods for the bike
Thanks everyone. I know I know. I've taken some pics, but they are still loaded in my camera. My compter here at work doesn't have a card reader, so I'll have to upload them at home. Hey BikerInTheDesert, I wonder how wrinkled the suit would be in the bag?
Unload the camera and screw anyone who coments on wrinkles - they arn't driving a HARLEY - my .02
