For the price of the ticket you got in Wisconsin they could of at least given you an accurate speed check instead of an estimate!

LOL, didn't get a ticket. Did get told to leave the state and never come back! Had a broken tail light, too. I was riding at the back of the pack and all my brosheaded on down the road, except for a 'Wing rider. Cop was interested in the 'Wing as it was a first year model. Chewed us both out, asked a buncha questions, and cut us loose. When I got to base housing, and was parking the bike at a bud's, I found I'd lost my kick stand.
118 (or so) on a stock 04 1200 Custom, per the speedo. Always like to do a burst over a buck, but always safely, (no traffic, not on twisties), and not for extended stretches.
I had my stock xl1200r up to 120 but i may have been doing more i dont know because it felt like it was still pulling.
But i had to back off because my front end starts to get shacky.
I had her up to 105 on the Baltimore Beltway, thought I'd be scared to death, but I wasn't, I really enjoyed it. Only did it once though, I'm sure I'll do it again but not very often. 98 sportster 1200 pretty much stock.
I demo'd an 05 XL1200 and I got it up to 105 on a pretty much deserted stretch of interstate. Seems like that's pretty much it for newer stock Sportys. Then I bought that model (easy to see why ) and I've gotten mine up to about 90 but then I got scared. I have a 6-year note to pay, after all.
Speeding is dangerous. No one should ever go over 15 mph. Also, wear your helmet to bed.
