Default Fuel Tank
Hello Harley Heads. I'm in the midst of trying to put my bike back together after paint, and figured I'd do some maintenance. Someone had mentioned on here that I should change my petcock filter and remove the 2nd uni-filter and run straight fuel line. I took the old petcock out and some rust came out. I shined a light in there and it's got some areas with rust. My question is, are there any, tank rust kits? Stuff that will flush all that out, or should I look at getting another tank? Thanks In advanced

POR15 has a fuel tank repair kit that I have been happy with - there are others too.

Soak it in white vinegar, that should get rid of the rust. Then, you can coat it or not, depending on how clean it looks.
