Everyday. Bike gets about 350 miles a week rain or shine (except when the weather is 20 degrees or so).

Cool im just wanting to make sure i can theretically get myself a 1200 and sell my truck (truck is going to hell in a hand basket and i dont want to deal with it). Ill be moving to north western WA so ill have to get used to riding in the rain realy quick. And as far as the cold goes, I guess ill find out how warm the cold weather gear i was issued for work realy is...

Any of you do this? Part of why im getting a bike shortly is becouse my pickup is a piece of junk, and bikes are a lower cost method of transportation and of course i have always wanted one. So weather and BS asside, how many use the bike for your primary?
I got my bike in late April. In early June I took the MSF course and I've ridden to work pretty much everyday since that time. I've put almost 3,000 miles on it since early June. I don't ride when its really raining out, but I have ridden when it was foggy and drizzling.

The other thing I really like is I use the bike to run errands in the evenings or the weekends. About the only time I drive the Outback these days is if its really raining, or if I have a lot of stuff to haul, i.e. groceries or the telescopes to a function. Other than that, I ride the bike.

Back in 1979 when I was still in the Navy my ship went into dry-dock in Bremerton, WA. I spent my last year in the Navy there. All I had for transportation was my Kawasaki KZ1000 and I lived 40 miles from the base. Needless to say I got used to riding in the rain almost every day for a year. It's not bad at all with good rain gear. You feel all nice and dry and warm inside of your little cacoon. Riding in the snow got a little tricky but luckilythat areadoesn't get a whole lot of snow the sticks on the streets for long. I only dumped it once riding in the snow. I hit a railroad track at an angle and down I went! I was going real slow an didn't get hurt.
