Riding Position
This is the ad I got my bars from. Everything said fit me perfectly. I also have 4.5" risers with 1.5" pullback.
I had a Mustang seat. This really helped my sitting area but did nothing for my lower back.If you ride for distance, the XXXXX Handlebars are the most comfortable bars you can get! These bars allow you to sit comfortably for long hours in the saddle. Original Harley Drag bars are a pain when you try to ride for more than an hour or so. They cause you to lean forward which tenses your back, twists your forearms and puts weight on your wrists. All this reduces your time in the saddle. Forward lean is what tires you and makes your back hurt on extended rides because your back is tense instead of relaxed. If this is you, you'll notice that at stop lights you'll take your hands off the bars, shake & rub your arms, and sit up with your back straight while you wait for the light to change...

The XXXX Handlebars are the tallest possible without replacing cables, and the narrowest without hitting your tank. If you want to ride for hours, you want these handlebars. These bars get your forearms about level to the ground, are wide enough for parking leverage but narrow enough for arm comfort and lane cutting. Your arms can "hang" on the grips with no arm twist or wrist pressure, you can sit straight without forward lean.

I agree with the taller bars but I don't agree with narrow. There's a leverage thing going on there.

Big steering wheel on a car VS little on a car with no power steering. Same thing.

This probably works better for a bike, hands wide apart for better balance.

Make sure you get the right mid controls. Basically one type for abs and one for non abs. Any set from 2007 till 2015 non abs will work.

Currently looking for used kit on Fleabay .
Will update when I have them fitted .
Rgds.
If that doesn't work, I HIGHLY suggest a back rest. I doubt mids will help much.

I forgot, aside from changing my position to sitting up and looking straight with higher bars and a backrest, after I broke my back was using a back support belt. I found if I cinched a wide one up tight I could ride longer.

You mind sharing exactly which bars those are?

These bars were HB-HD10 in the "XXXX's".
They look a lot like the earlier Sportster bars from the factory.
With these my comfortable riding time went from an hour to full day rides, without experiencing my previous lower back pain.
However, my new "vertical, riding position caused me to feel the road wind.
I added a 17" windscreen. This took the road wind off my body.
This gave me much longer riding time before getting tired from holding onto the bars.
Now my hands just rest on the grips instead of hanging on tightly to keep from falling off.

I just installed Mid's from TC Bros to help with my Lower back pain. https://tcbros.com/collections/sport...83285e94&_ss=c
I only have one ride so far but think I may be onto something.
Very nice kit but the Rear brake linkage design does reduce rear brake power over stock forwards.
