Default forward controls

I just got back from picking up my bike. I had forward controls put on ... and man ... what a difference! Just on the ride home I could feel how much more control I had in the turns and at really slow speeds. I even managed to beat the rain which started a second after I pulled into the garage. For any of you in the Tampa Bay area looking for a great place to take your bike, K & K Custom Cycles in Palm Harbor. Great service and great prices. I'm a happy camper. Ride safe. Blu

They make a big difference. Not trying to steal the thread but, has anybody found a low cost extended control or an alternative? I'm 5'10" and feel cramped with the stock forward controls on my 06 1200c. I remember a guy here that made some adapters. Wonder if he ever decided to sell them. Anyway, glad you like your controls.

Wife has the forwards on her 1200L and she really likes them. When we first brought it home, it had the mid range and she road it for a week and had bruises all over the back of legs. She hated them. Funny thing was when she took off the first time with the forwards, she was placing her feed mid range and nothing there.

Hi Nick! Good to see another East TN guy on here!

You can do it yourself. It's a very easy switch. If you check eBay you can usually find them available for $300 or less.

Yeah, I remember the thread about the guy that had extended the forward controls on his Sportster. Seems there would be a market for a product like that if he would decide to offer it to the general public.

I'm 6'2", with a 34" inseam, and the forward controls on the 2005 1200C I owned always felt a little cramped. In fact, I wouldn't call them true forward controls, as they are only a few inchesforward of the mid controls used on the Sportsters. Normally I rode with my heels resting on top of the pegs. I was going to have a set of extensions fabricated and chromed, and have the controls moved forward 3 to 4 inches.

Below is a picture of the 'forward controls' on the 1200C I owned compared to the controls on my Dyna WideGlide. You can see quite a difference, and why people with longer inseams might be more comfortable if they were extended on their Sportsters.
