Iloved my 07 1200c and couldn't find many if any flaws!..period. If I could change one thing it might be to give it a lower COG ..but given the design of the v-twin, the clearance and frame that's impossible.
I'm looking for a beater Sportster to rat out this winter as a project also. Kind of a poor man's Nightster...
I lovemy bike 2000 1200-C
But the motor noise dose bother me, but just a little.
The main thing I dont like is the Customs come with a skinny 21" front tire. That skinny tire makes me nervous in the curves. My brother has a wider 19" tire and his feels more stabile in the curves.
Iknow a much more experienced Harly guy that would like to switch out tires with me. {he wants his to have a more chopper look} We have about the same miles on the tires. The 19"should fit on my bike with no mods, but my fender would be the same width as the wider tire. My front would only drop about 3/8".
I think it would look o.k. on my bike, and handle a bit better too. Im riding up to his home this sunday to set them side by side, to make sure it will work.
If this works out like I hope, then I will be down to just the motor noise...
