On a 2013 and earlier bike the data port is J1850 4 pin. On 2014 CAN bus the data port is 6 pin. Each using a different protocol. On the PV-3 it was possible to change the cable and use on either port type.
Thus if you have a 2007 to 2013 bike today your PV-4 you purchased as a 4 pin plug on it. I just wondered if you can get the 6 pin plug and use it on a CAN bus bike as well else you would have to purchase another PV-4. That would negate the whole point of being able to purchase just a run time license for the newer bike.
It is a shame to read this about the PV4 because all the topics on the previous unit was the best thing since sliced bread.
The original Power Vision, i.e. the PV1B (J1850) and PV2B (CAN-bus), got discontinued almost a year ago. The reason given was difficulty sourcing the touch screen displays.
So all they had left in the way of the Power Vision was the PV3 and PV4, both of which are essentially dumbed-down versions of the original PV1B/PV2B.
But just this summer, they announced the PV1B & PV2B would be available again. Availability resumed on 7/28/23.
The PV1B/PV2B is the Cadillac of tuners, in my opinion. Tremendous capabilities combined with ease of use.
Yes, I set up a gmail account with a password as instructed. At the dynojet site, when I 'sign in', it comes up as 'failed to log in' My wife tried to log on with the same results. Dynojet help said problem appears to be at my end; things look ok at their end.
With PV4 you do not download tunes from the Dynojet site, you log into the Dynojet app on your phone and download them thru the app, or of you have purchased thru Fuel Moto we supply the tunes directly thru the app under "shared tunes"

That's how it works . It seems people don't understand that part . Bought mine from FuelMoto and a have tunes saved and works fantastic
Bought a FuelMoto some years ago; a piggy back set-up if I recall. PIA to install and did not cure my performance issues at all. What happened to KISS?

The tuner arrived today. I loaded the first tune, and the bike runs very nice now. Its got a few pops de-acceleration, but that doesn't bother me. I got to work on quieting down the vance and hines pipes a little more. Me happy.
